Do you offer lessons once a week ?

We don’t offer lessons once a week, children swimming once a week lack continuity and don’t progress as fast as children who attend lessons twice a week. Swimming uses completely different muscle groups to most sports , and many children have low muscle tone due to lack of physical activity. Swimming twice a week helps build a strong core and upper body strength and is helps with over all body conditioning.

Do you offer private lessons ?
Our classes consist of four children per class hence we offer semi private lessons . Children thrive when learning from one another and participating in group activities. We value vital life skills like team work, peer learning, respecting other people’s time and many more are a crucial part of our philosophy. Your child will be placed in a class suited to her /his level and the teacher and children best suited to your child’s temperament. Our teachers ensure that all students are kept busy and attended to at all times so the attention your child receives is no different than that of a private session.
If I miss a lesson can I make it up?
Unfortunately we cannot make up lessons missed. We have a strict policy where we will not overbook a class and should we make up any lessons, it would cause an overbooking. Time slots are reserved for your child and should your child not arrive, the teacher is in the water waiting for your child to. Time management and scheduling is another crucial skill we focus on teaching. Please ensure when booking , you choose time slots to suit your daily routine.
What if I feel my child is not suited to their assigned?
Our primary concern is your child’s happiness . Should you not be happy with a teacher assigned to your child, you can contact the administrator and they will gladly assist regarding this matter. Our expert teachers are skilled to work with different personalities but we also take great care when placing your child with an instructor.
What is the maximum number of children in a class?
For all the lower levels we will only have 4 children in the class, ensuring that all the children are getting attention and are participating in the lesson for the full duration of the class.
What if a scared child doesn’t want to swim?
Our staff are trained to handle any situation that may arise regarding children and swimming. We never force children into the water, we encourage them and allow them to get in when they feel ready, which is generally within the first or second lesson.
My children do online classes the whole afternoon, when can I bring them to swimming lessons?
We have adjusted our Swimming times to suit COVID 19 online classes by making swimming classes in the mornings as well as in the evenings.
I would like to register my 4 children and they are all on different levels but I don’t have a lot of time in the afternoon to spend at swimming as I work. How will my lessons work?
We will have many classes of different levels running at the same time so we are able to teach your 4 children within half an hour. Our facility is built on such a way that whether you have one child or many we can teach them at their correct levels within half and hour.
I have heard about Wave Swimming Academy from a friend, how can I join up?
You can register online and book your child/children a no obligation, free of charge assessment and one of our staff members will gladly show you around our facility while your child is assessed. Once the assessment has been done the facilitator will tell you your child’s level and you can then book lessons for your child online selecting the correct level for a convenient time that’s suits you.
Do you offer Adult lessons?

What Is the youngest age that you teach?
We currently accept children from the age of 3 by themselves, as well as a mother and babies program where mothers can swim with their babies from the age of 8 months.
Can I sit next to the pool and watch my child’s lesson?
Children thrive in a school setting where all their focus is on their teacher and the task at hand, and so we have created the perfect opportunity for this to happen where you as parents can watch your children's lessons from the comfort of our parents lounge. We have cameras directly on the pools so you can be involved in the lesson without your child being distracted by your presence.
Can I drop my child and pick them up when the lesson is over?
Should you wish to drop your child and leave, please ensure you leave a child minder to take responsibility for your child. Wave staff members are not permitted to assist your children in the showers or in the toilets should the need arise. We require that someone is on the premises for the duration of the lesson and is waiting at the collection point.
How long will it take my child to learn to swim?
There are many factors to take into consideration when answering this question. The child’s strength, co ordination and past experiences are a few to mention . The pools at Wave have been designed in such a way, in order to make this process happen as quickly as possible. Our skilled teachers will take your children through all our levels with ease. The key to producing a good swimmer is developing a love for water and a solid foundation of the sport. This is done from the onset of their lessons and is vital whether you want a competitive swimmer, a child that will just swim for recreation or just to have your child safe in the water.
Can my child swim for more than two lessons per week?
Should you require more than two lessons a week you can go onto the app and book additional time slots as a second child.
I am taking my summer vacation and will be away for 6 weeks, can you freeze my contact?
Our annual fees are calculated on a 4 week month (8 lessons) and the average month consists of 9, and at times 10 lessons per month. We have done this to accommodate holidays, and any other lessons you may miss, as our policy states we do not make up lessons missed.
